- Why did you write this book?
I wrote this book to help other people, young and old, struggling with life’s lies. I want to the use the examples in my life, how I surpassed them, and teach others that they can do the same. I wrote this book to prevent young trees from falling for the traps and tricks of life, and how listening to their tears will be the most important tool that they can use in their life to become great and overcome failure.
- What do you think will surprise readers the most?
I think most readers will be surprised to know that even though I am a college instructor now, I began life like many of them. Actually, I am them. I grew up fatherless, never knowing what love was, and strong in all the wrong areas. I know life can be hard, but we must know that we are the solution to our own problems.
- What’s the most important lesson or message readers will get from it?
Love, or luv, as I spell it with a “u” must begin with us loving ourselves first. To change our situations for ourselves and our loved ones, we have to begin by making sure we are loving ourselves emotionally, physically, spiritually and mentally.
- Did writing this book change your life in any way?
Writing this book has helped me keep my promise to Yahweh, my mom, and myself. It has inspired me to tell my story more often because I will be helping someone who has faced these same struggles. In that prison cell I remember the promise I made to use my power for good and teach other lost individuals how to find their way. I have been more active in my community than ever, to help be a part of the solution.
- What do you hope will come from others reading it?
Reading this book and completing the workbook, I hope others will apply the knowledge that they learned about themselves and begin fixing their situation. From there, we can pick each other up, move forward, and continue to succeed.
- What are you working on now?
We are working on creating an e-course that will go more in-depth into the lessons from “Life Lies” to allow teachers to incorporate this into their curriculum. We are also working on a podcast that will be a forum-style question and answer discuss current topics, trends, and find solutions to the problems that plague individuals that may be struggling with life’s tricks and traps. We also working on my autobiography.
